About the Job – Java Web Developer (Mid to Senior)
Job Description
A commodity software company seeking an immediate need for a talented java/oracle web database developer. Experience with software product development and extensive hands-on experience developing transactional based web application will be keys to success in this growing, stable and high-tech organization. Ideal candidate will have previous experience within commodities, but strong candidate from financial backgrounds can be considered as well. It is essential that both your resume and actual experience demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and practical experience of object-oriented design, and multi-thread programming in J2EE / Oracle environment.
Major responsibilities will include the following:
• Develop solid and high performance web applications with using J2EE / Oracle / Linux environment.
• Work with product managers to define project specification.
• Work with technical manager to provide code and system analysis for project requirement.
• Deliver projects on-time and to specification with an appropriate level of quality.
• Re-factor existing code base to improve software process quality.
• Setup/configure development environment & deployment environment.
Job Qualification:
• BA or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in software engineering/ web application development in J2EE.
• Experience with diverse technical understanding of Internet Infrastructure technology (DNS, TCP/IP, Load Balancing, HTTP Servers, Application Servers, database connectivity methods).
• Strong technical aptitude for quickly learning new technologies.
• Ability to handle and complete multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
• Efficient verbal and written communication skills.
Required Skills:
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Excellent skills in Database programming (SQL, PLSQL) and Data modeling.
• Excellent skills in J2EE technology (GWT, JSP, Servlet, JDBC, Strut, Hibernate) and Design Patterns.
• Excellent skills in Web technology (HTML, JavaScript, Ajax, Flex), and GUI design.
• Experience with distributed component technologies (RMI/SOAP).
• Experience with developing process automation scripts under Linux environment.
• Experience with Business Reporting technologies (Crystal Report/JExcel/iText).
• Experience with Perl and Bash Shell.
• Experience with multiple operating systems (Windows 2003, Linux/Unix).
• Data Warehouse experience and skills in developing custom and ad-hoc reports desired.
• Application development on mobile devices experience desired.
• Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision.
